Good Friday morning, Hammerhead Families,

TGIF! Hope you're having a good day so far. We have some good news - we've reached an agreement with Sharon Johnston Swim Team to have a couple of dual meets next week, one at home & one away, each covering different age groups.

The first meet will be for swimmers ages 11 & up and will be on Monday, July 13 at 6pm at the Mt. Carmel Pool. Please sign up your swimmer ASAP for this meet if you can attend.

The second meet will be for swimmers ages 10 & under and will be on Wednesday, July 15 at 5:30pm at the Sharon Johnston Park Pool. Please sign up your swimmer ASAP for this meet if you can attend.

The format of these meets will be slightly different than a standard dual meet, but all swimmers will be provided an opportunity to swim multiple strokes and there will be relays as well. The first heat of each of the individual stroke events will have the 3 fastest swimmers from each team competing against each other. I believe the plan is to score the meet in some fashion but we're still working out the details. Safety will remain a priority so parents will not be allowed on deck and everyone in the pool area (other than swimmers) will be required to wear a face covering / mask. Family members outside of the pool area are strongly encouraged to bring masks in the event that the recommended 6 feet of social distancing separation cannot be maintained.

Lastly, we are planning to have our final team event on Saturday morning, July 25 starting at 7:30AM. There will be an intrasquad meet, some food & snacks for swimmers, and we will have our end of year team meeting to congratulate our swimmers, hand out gifts, and (everyone's favorite part) vote on next year's board members before going our separate ways. More details will be provided for this next week as plans are finalized.

The calendar has been updated to reflect plans for the final 2 weeks of the season - please note that on Tuesday, July 14 practice will be for only 10&under swimmers due to the meet on Monday July 13. Also note that there are no activities planned for Wednesday, July 22.

I again would like to thank all of our awesome Hammerhead Families for their continued support and dedication to the team. We're praying we can make it through the remaining couple of weeks of the season with some exciting meets and fun practices and a final celebration on the 25th before everyone shifts gears back toward the school year.
