Welcome to the home of the Mt. Carmel Hammerheads Swim Team! 

The season is HERE, Monday May 11^th-FIRST PRACTICE. T-Shirts and Caps are ordered. Coaches are training the Jr Coaches this Saturday at the pool (4:30). There is going to be a ton of information in this email, so be sure to rock through the whole thing.

  • Monday May 11: First Practice
  • Tuesday May 12^th: Parents Meeting (6:00)-1^st time families highly encouraged.
  • Monday May 18^th: Suit Fitting. Saturn Sports will be at practice to assist swimmers with fittings. Link to Suit site in Parent Portal: https://www.mtcarmelhammerheads.com/info-for-parents
  • Wed May 20^th: Officials Deck Training. Information is on the RCSL website (https://swimrcsl.org/).
  • Thurs May 21^st: Time Trials. Deadline to register is Friday May 15^th. We will also be doing Volunteer Coaching to prepare everyone for meets.
• SwimTopia: This is the App that synchronizes with our website. All updates from our coaches and board will be pushed through as notifications to your phone. This is especially important when working through weather concerns at practices and meets. Please download and use website login to access.
• Checks: Any family paying by check needs to have their check received by the first practice on My 11^th. Mailing address is 128 Whippoorwill Dr, 35811. We will be prepared to take checks in person on the 11^th as well.
• No Refunds: No refunds of swim team dues after the first practice on May 11^th.
• Volunteer: Each family is required to complete three volunteer slots over the course of the season. If you have not signed up for your volunteer spots, please check the openings for all the meets. Register under Meets & Events.
• Officiating Training: Information is on the RCSL website (https://swimrcsl.org/), and we will have deck training at our pool on Wed May 20^th for new officials. Returning officials that need to be recertified can start the process online now.

This is shaping up to be an awesome season with all the great new and returning families. Go Hammerheads!

The team practices and competes during the summer and we will begin our 18th season of Hammerhead swimming in 2026!  MCST is made up of wonderful families in the Mt. Carmel by the River neighborhood and the surrounding communities.  MCST offers a convenient opportunity to experience the fun, fitness, and excitement of competitive age-group swimming close to home!  Males and females ages 5-17 years old who can swim one length of the pool without assistance are eligible to join the team. This is a volunteer intense sport, so parental volunteering is required at two meets.

MCST is part of the Rocket City Swim League (RCSL) located in Huntsville, Alabama. Each swim season begins with practice beginning in mid-May and consists of 4 regular season meets (on Wednesday nights in June/July) and a league-wide City Meet concluding the season July 14.
