    Mt Carmel Hammerheads Team Updates (Suit Fitting, Practice Schedule, Team Shirts, Time Trials)

    Hi All!

    This is a reminder that our team suit fitting is this Tuesday, May 11th from 4-6 p.m. at First Place Athletics which is on Regal Drive across from the Parkway Place Mall. Please know that families are not obligated to purchase a team suit. We will have team caps available at the pool during the first week of practice.

    1) PRACTICE starts next Monday, May 17th! We will also have a parent orientation meeting starting at 6:45 p.m. Monday night. We are going to split up the practice times based on age as shown below. The complete detailed practice schedule (showing specific age group times) for all practices will be provided on the team calendar by this weekend. Due to group sizes, your swimmer must remain in his/her group based on current age.

    5 - 6 6:00 - 6:30PM 30 min
    7 - 8 6:35 - 7:10PM 35 min
    9 - 10 7:15 - 7:50PM 35 min
    11 & Up 7:55 - 8:30PM 35 min

    Important notes about practice - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

    • Swimmers should wear their suits to and from the pool
    • Please remember to bring towels, water bottles, kickboards (if you have them), and goggles
    • Parents will not be allowed on the pool deck. We will have several coaches, junior coaches, and a lifeguard on deck during each practice. If you are concerned about your 5/6-year-old swimmer on deck, please don’t hesitate to talk to a board member or Coach Whitney.
    • Parents should plan to bring chairs and sit in the grassy area outside of the fenced in pool area.
    • The entrance to the pool will be on the far East side, and the exit from the pool will be on the West side close to the parking lot.
    • If your swimmer needs help getting his/her cap and goggles on properly, please assist him/her before getting to the pool deck.

    2) Team T-Shirts are on sale now! Please consider supporting the team by purchasing one of these fantastic shirts for every member of the family! A portion of the proceeds from Green Pea Press will be donated to the team. Shirts will only be on sale until May 21st.

    3) Mark your Calendar for Time Trials! Time Trials will be on Saturday, May 22nd beginning at 8:30 a.m. This is an opportunity for your swimmer to get a time in each stroke (free, back, breast, fly).More information to come.

    If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask! We will do our best to cover as much as possible during the parent meeting on Monday evening, as well.
