Season & City Meet Recap

And just like that, our 11th season is officially in the books! Congratulations to the team on another great season, filled with lots of fun and excitement! This season we had 131 total swimmers on the team, which is an all-time record for MCST! We also had 84 swimmers sign up for City Meet, another team record!

Speaking of City Meet, congratulations to MCST for finishing 5th overall this year! Our 15-17 boys took home high points again, and Riley Worshek took 1st place in 3 individual events (freestyle, butterfly, and backstroke) during his final time to compete at City Meet. Carson Amos, also swimming in his final City Meet, took 5th in freestyle, 5th in butterfly, and 3rd in backstroke. Jack Sentell took 14th in freestyle and 10th in the butterfly. The 15-17 boys took 1st place in both the medley relay and freestyle relay. Last but not least, Tori Orcutt took 8th in the butterfly and helped the 15-17 girls freestyle relay take 3rd place in that event. We will miss our senior swimmers tremendously, not just as athletes but more so as teammates and friends! We wish them the best as they finish out high school and move to the next chapter in their lives.

There were numerous other great individual and relay performances by our swimmers (too many to cover in this e-mail), and we should all be proud of them! You can check out the RCSL website for more details about all of the results.

Our end of year party got cut short a bit due to the weather moving in, but it was great to spend some time celebrating the season, thanking our coaches and key volunteers, and recognizing all of our swimmers for the great job they did throughout the season!

I said this at the party, but I am truly thankful for each of our MCST families for spending so much of your summer with us! I hope to see you all again next year, maybe to include some additional family members (younger and older siblings, hint hint).

We have many items (ribbons, gifts, etc.) that we were unable to deliver to swimmers and parents who couldn't make the party tonight. I will send out another e-mail within the next day or two (hopefully) once we take inventory of those items - we'll let you know when they are available to come pick up at our house.

Lastly, we held a quick team meeting to vote on board members for next year. The results are as follows:

    President: Joe Pierce

    Vice President: Brandi Gindhart

    Treasurer: Jonathan Hall

    Secretary: Abeni Welcome

    HOA Rep: Brian Ham

    Non-HOA Rep: Wendy Johnson

    RCSL Rep: Dawn Pierce

Enjoy the rest of your summer and thanks for being a part of the Hammerheads this season!
